BRIEF 3 – BCOM in Fashion

DEADLINE – 28 JULY 2017

You have been appointed as the MERCHANDISE PLANNER for the Gauteng region of a large retail store.
The first task assigned to you is to formulate a detailed distribution channel and to create a costing sheet for an item chosen from your Summer 2017/2018 trend board.

STEP 1#:
Create a SUMMER 17/18 LADIESWEAR TREND MOODBOARD (Black A3 Board & must include labelling)

STEP 2#:
Create a DIAGRAM OF A DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL of a chosen item from your trend board.
The distribution channel must include the following: The three distribution points and the method of transport at each of these points. (Black A3 Board and must include labelling)
The following distribution points have been identified:
– Green point warehouse (Cape Town);
– Modderfontein warehouse (Johannesburg);
– Stand-alone store (Braamfontein).

STEP 3#:
Create a COSTING SHEET (EXCEL/WORD) , that must include all* production and distribution costs for
your chosen item. Include the profit margin and suggested selling price of the item. The costing
sheet must have a visual representation of the chosen item (diagram or image).
*Individual production & distribution costs and total production & distribution costs.

If you drop of entry at LISOF campus, the Excel or Word version of the costing sheet must either be included on a memory stick or copied to a CD so that it can be accessed electronically.
*Candidate needs to have a min of 50% for Pure Math OR 80% for Math Lit. Candidate will need to write the BCom Numeracy test at LISOF campus and receive a min of 50%.
